Jackson Tigger Darling

This is the last time that I will be working on the computer with Jackson sleeping under my desk.  He really is a ‘Mama’s Dog’.  He has always followed me every where that I go.  Just on Friday, he slipped through the baby gate as I was going downstairs to load my stuff into the car to head to Casper for the weekend.  He wanted to go to!  He loves to “go for a ride in the car”.  Today I am wishing that I would have taken an extra 5 minutes to give him a little playtime before I left.  When I got home Sun evening, everything was different.  He didn’t greet me at the gate barking and wagging his tail, in fact he didn’t greet me at all… he was hiding under the table.  He wasn’t begging Reese for her dinner, because she would always share:)  And then we knew why… Later that evening he got really ill and we knew that his days were numbered.  The past few nights have been very long, he hasn’t slept… which means I haven’t slept.  And today we knew… He’s not eating, he whimpers while he sleeps, he’s short of breath, can’t hold his balance and won’t give us one of the once million kisses we’d get a day.  He’s slipping away, and I can’t help but be so unbelievably sad.  Baylee and I shared lots of tears tonight as she said goodbye.  I plan to lay wherever he lays tonight to just get that last little bit of snuggling in. Because tomorrow he will be going to Heaven. ( I like to think he’ll be there waiting for me)  Laid to Rest at the Garner Manor.  God Bless my husband, who is going to be doing that part all on his own.  The kids and I can’t make the trip back to Casper, and Jackson can’t wait on us.

For all of you who knew him, you know what a great dog he has been.  He was a wonderful addition to our family.. our first child:)  He has been with us every step of the way.  From our wedding, to the birth of each child, on every move and most vacations.  There will be an emptiness in our house for a while.  I love you so, so, so much Jackson Tigger!!  You will never be forgotten!!

I’m trying…

Hi everyone!!  I have at least 4 posts waiting for me to get ready for you all!  It has been crazy the last few days.  I will start catching up…  Garner’s Birthday, Olivia Update, Anniversary, Grandparents Here Posts coming soon!  I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.  Count to 10, deep breath, *sigh*, 2 littlest kids in bed, cold adult beverage out of the fridge:) Ahhhhhh!  (**And for everyone who knows me, you know that it’s a girly, fruity drink with very little alcohol**)

Now onto my movie night with Baylee and Garner!!! Annie… The Original!!!

Fun Day

My cousin, her son and Olivia arrived late Tuesday evening safe and sound.  And after being in the car for 4 1/2 hours, the kids definitely had some energy to get out before bed. They ate and played outside for a while, Baylee even joined in for a little bit (apparently she was too excited to sleep).  Yesterday, after the sleepy heads in this house got up, and we ALL got ready, and then had lunch, we headed to Zoo Montana.  I guess you can call it a Zoo because they have some animals there, but really there’s not much to it.  I’m sure after all the plans for it are completed, in however many years, it will be better.  But it was a great way to spend some of the day. They all seemed to enjoy it.

After the Zoo we came back to cool off before dinner at Chuckie Cheese!!  The Kids were so excited to go play some games.  Garner’s favorite game was the basketball game and Baylee’s was driving the jet ski game.  As for us adults, we didn’t think the pizza was too bad.

After the kids were in bed sound asleep, my cousin and I headed to Sonic for a yummy drink and snack.  It was nice to be able to visit without 5 kids running around us.  I love having family visiting!!  So who’s next????  Tomorrow will be our first day with Olivia here with us alone.  I will let you know how the day goes.

As I write this, my cousin is on her way here with her sister’s little girl Olivia.  Olivia is 2 yrs old and has had one heck of a life, that I will not go into.  Now due to some extenuating circumstances she is going to come join our family for a little while.  We don’t know how long… for sure a couple of weeks.  However it is possible that it could be longer.  Weeks, Months, Years.  It’s funny, she’s family, but yet I have butterflies in my stomach.  I am nervous.  I hope that we are good for her, no matter how long the length of her stay.  I hope that God gives us the strength to handle this transition with grace, and to give us peace with whatever decisions we make.  Our 3 children:  Baylee (7), Garner (4) and Reese (1 1/2) seem excited for a new playmate.  But when the reality sits in that she’s not just visiting for a couple of days, how will they react?  How will we react?  How will Olivia react?   This story is just beginning…

Hello All!!

I have been wanting to do this for a while.  We have another blog that my DH did for many years that he updated for our out-of-town family and friends.  It was mainly about our children, so they could watch them grow.  I originally intended to just start it again, but instead decided to create my own.

My purpose of this blog is there is no purpose.  I will write about what I feel like when I want to.  I hope to post several times a week.  You will see posts about my family mostly. However, I hope to offer recipes, craft ideas, some school lessons, and whatever else I can come up with.  I am totally open to suggestions.  And FYI, I intend to customize the look of this to be totally different.  I just wanted to get started so I could write my next post.  I am excited and looking forward to sharing our story.

Welcome to Simply Darling!!!
